TWST Day at Darien Lake: All swimmers and families are welcome!

Date: August 4th (Rain Date: August 5th)

We will be leaving Orchard Park High School following practice (approximately 9:15). You can also meet us at the park. We will meet as a group at 11:30 in front of the entrance to the Superman roller coaster.

Rate: $27.99 for 15 or more tickets (regular price $42.99)

RSVP: To get the discounted rate, we need swimmers and families to RSVP by July 23rd with payment. RSVP to Jill MacSwan at jmacswan1040@aol.com. or by phone: 655-5689. Payment can be put in the “MacSwan” file folder at the pool or make other arrangements through e-mail. When replying, please indicate how many tickets you will need.

Thanks to all the swimmers, coaches and parents for making this one of our most successful years with high enrollment and attendance. There have been numerous successes this year with number of swimmer participation in meets, personal best swims, increase in higher yardage events swam, team records, etc.

July 16, 2010: Kristen Romano broke district record in the 400IM for short course, breaking it by over 14 seconds!

Good Luck to those swimmers going to JO's this weekend in Syracuse!

2009-2010 Team accomplishments include:

1st place small team division at Niagara LSC Championship (Gold) Meet
2nd place at NILS Championship (2nd to the combined teams of EAST and Lake Shore)
3rd Place from STAR G-S-B Meet Feb 5 - 7: 141 Best times from 251 swims..56% improvement! 13 Swimmers improved in ALL events they swam!! Great work!
Snowball Meet: Jan 23, 2010 Stats: 21 swimmers improved in EVERY event they swam! 78 Swimmers improved in at least 1 event, 20 swimmers improved in 2 events, 20 swimmers improved in 3 events, 7 swimmers improved in 4 events!
159 Personal best times out of 264 swims.. over 60% FINtastic!
Great turn out for parent volunteers in the Turkey Splash, Snowball, Dual meets and Championship meets. Thanks to all who experienced how fun it is to help out at swim meets!
3 Swimmers participated in short course Eastern Regional Zone Meet short course meet.
Swimmers who meet qualifying times can go to long course Eastern Regional Zone meet August 11 - 14, 2010 in Rockville, MD

The next TWST Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 26, 2010 at 6:00pm - if you are interested in attending, please send an email to twstswim@gmail.com for the location.

Parents please note: If a varsity or modified school meet is scheduled during practice times, the practice schedule may be altered for that day. For example Level 1/2 may move to West Seneca East pool, or get cancelled, but the later levels would stay the same. Check your email and the website regularly - we will do our best to give you as much notice of the changes as possible.

If you are interested in becoming a certified swim official (or renewing your certification), please contact Krissie Bonin at wdnboat@aol.com or 648-1040. We will be arranging for a clinic and hope to have it completed by the snow ball meet. Also, to ensure we have the most recent information on file, if you have previously taken the clinic and are actively certified, please contact Krissie and provide her with your information.
